Our Team

Aaron Vermut is a founder, operator, and investor known for his ability to simplify complex businesses and help them scale with discipline. With deep experience across corporate finance, capital markets, and technology, he brings a builder’s mindset to every role—whether coaching founders, restructuring teams, or navigating high-stakes transactions.

For the past 15 years, Aaron has managed his family office, investing across private companies, funds, and special situations. He serves as an advisor and consultant to Robinhood Financial and works closely with mission-driven businesses and funds, including Engine No.1 and Galvanize Climate Solutions. He focuses on companies where he can be hands-on and meaningfully additive—not just a name on a cap table.

Previously, Aaron was CEO of Prosper Marketplace, guiding the company through a period of rapid growth and operational transformation. Before that, he co-founded Merlin Securities, an early fintech platform providing technology, trading, and operational solutions to hedge funds. Backed by Sequoia Capital, Merlin was acquired by Wells Fargo, where Aaron became Managing Director and head of Prime Services, leading the integration into Wells Fargo Securities.

Earlier in his career, Aaron invested in software and infrastructure companies as a Principal at New Enterprise Associates and began his career as a Senior Consultant at Cambridge Technology Partners. He holds a BA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA in Finance from Wharton.

Outside of work, Aaron is an avid cyclist and skier, a lifelong science-fiction reader, and a fluent German speaker. He lives in Kelly, Wyoming, with his family.
